Cartoon Capers with Corrina Askin

Mon 14th July to Friday 18th July,11.00 - 12.30pm

Corrina Askin is the creator of the RTE and Channel Five series Joe and Jack and Castle Farm.  Corrina and her team will take young people through the steps to animating their own characters.  

The class size is limited and will start off with some examples of both Corrina’s and local young people’s work.  The participants will then have the opportunity to draw their very own cartoon characters.   This is a morning class only.  Cost €7.50 per child, telephone the Box Office or book online


Into The West

Into the West is a 1992 Irish fantasy film about Irish Travellers, written by Jim Sheridan and directed by Mike Newell, starring Gabriel Byrne, Ellen Barkin and Colm Meaney and is suitable for General Viewing.


It is the story of two young boys whose dad is "King of the Travellers" and they are regaled by their grandfather with irish folk tales and legends.  Their horse is stolen from them and they begin their adventure to get their mystical horse Tir na nOg (Land of Eternal Youth) back.  They escape the poverty of north Dublin council estate and "Into the West" where they find that Tir na Nog is not just a horse.
